Chicken of the Sea Funniest Kids' Quotes Contest plus a giveaway

Anyone who has ever heard of tuna knows that Chicken of the Sea is the best you can buy short of buying it fresh from a seafood place.  They also have great salmon which I love.  Also they are currently running a contest featuring the funny things kids say...

PANCAKE PEN FROM TOVOLO review

Around my house pancakes are an anytime of the day meal or even a snack.  My whole family loves pancakes.  One day I was online looking (like I do all the time it seems. Not really since my kids keep me hopping.) when I came across what could definitely be one of the best kitchen products around...The Pancake Pen from Tovolo.

Pancake Pen is a must have for any pancake lover.  Now I know some people use a regular squirt bottle for this kind of kitchen gadget but the Pancake Pen is so much better than that.  First of all it can stand temperatures up to 600 degrees F.  Also You can take the top and bottom off for easy clean up which I love.  It is also easy to hold an grip.  It also features measurements along the side.  Here are a few pics of what you can do.

The possibilities with it are endless. Now I loved making "special" pancakes for my family with my Pancake Pen. The best part though was the fact that my family loved the messages that I created and often time sent in requests for animal and such the next time I cooked.  Also kids can use this and my kids loved helping me make "special" pancakes in the morning with me.  This would be a great addition to any kitchen and would be great to help celebrate Father's Day or a birthday by saying I Love You.

BORN FREE TWIST 'N POP CUP review

Now I am the proud mom of a toddler who can for the most part use a cup fairly easy but she still makes mistakes which is why she still has a sippy cup.  Now my toddler daughter thinks she is such a big girl that sometimes she gives me grief about having to drink out of a sippy cup since her brother and sister get big kid cups.  I recently heard of a new product from Born Free that I thought my daughter would love.

Now Born Free is a company that specializes in baby bottles  and pacifiers and such,  they have products that grow with your child. Which means they also have a toddler cup line which features the Twist 'N Pop Cup.

It is the pink cup in the middle.  It is a 14 fl oz toddler cup that has a twist straw mouth with a pop-up soft silicone straw that keeps the straw clean and reduces spills. The cup has removable parts for easy clean up and an ergonomic design making it easy for a child to grip and hold.

Now I loved this cup for several reasons.  First it helps my daughter master the art of a straw and also does not encourage teeth issues like using other sippy cups can.  Also I like the fact that the whole cup can be taken apart for cleaning.  This has been one of my biggest issues with sippy cups.  Also I love the fact that my daughter loves it and refuses to drink out of a little girl cup anymore and she thinks she is big stuff with this cup.

The cups are available at most mass retailers like Wal Mart and Target.  The cup is available in four colors - .blue, green, yellow, and pink for a suggested price of $7.99.  This is the perfect cup to teach a kid to master the straw and the perfect toddler cup.

WEAVER GOLD POPCORN review and giveaway

I am a huge movie junkie.  My fiancee has called my movie collection "his own personal blockbuster!"  I have to admit this makes me very proud and happy.  Of course nothing goes better with a movie than some good ol popcorn especially the kind with tons of butter.  I have a huge weakness for butter!  Of course currently I have been trying to lose weight and a lot of buttery popcorn is nt helping me do that.

Luckily for me I have found the perfect solution for my popcorn... Weaver Gold Popcorn.

Now I am sure you are wondering how Weaver Gold Popcorn has helped me with my dieting issues.  Well, simply it is made with Olive Oil.  Yes, Olive Oil.  It is currently the only microwave popcorn on the market made with it.  That means it has less saturated fats as the other brands.

Now I was lucky enough to receive two boxes of Weaver Gold Popcorn.  I received the Movie Theater Butter.

Now at first I was worried that since it was healthier popcorn that it would lose some of that wonderful buttery popcorn flavor but surprisingly it still had it.  I love this popcorn and my family did too.  We quickly emptied the one box we received.  

I also received the Parmesan with Italian Herbs and Garlic.

Now this flavor of popcorn was not a big hit with my kids but the fiancee and I liked it especially him.  It is not really buttery but it has a nice taste of herbs and the garlic is not too strong.  I did miss the buttery taste though.  All in all olive oil and popcorn are a great match.  I am looking forward to the two remaining flavors to be released soon- Classic Butter and Light Butter.  Although I am sure Movie Theater Butter will remain my favorite.

With the release of the Complete First Season out June 14^th, we thought we’d give you a little recap of some of the character back-stories and our favorite moments you can look forward to viewing from the comfort of your couch just in case you missed it!  Wade through creeks, avoid alligators and get ready to crack some cases and ‘seek some justice’ during these warm summer nights spent at home.

Cool Characters You Can Look Forward To Getting Know

(Matt Passmore) is an attractive, brilliant, yet hard-to-get-along-with homicide detective from Chicago who is forced into exile after being wrongfully accused of sleeping with his former captain's wife. Using the payout he received from the Chicago PD, Longworth searches for the simple life and moves to the sleepy resort town of Palm Glade, Florida, joining the local bureau of the state police figuring it'll be an easy piece of time. Longworth prefers to work his cases alone when possible, and sharing his theories with other detectives or departments only serves to annoy him. But despite his cocky, annoying self-confidence, people put up with him because he's a little too charming to ignore, and damned good at solving murders.

(Kiele Sanchez) is a tough nut to crack. She's a pretty, quick-witted driven woman who leads a very complicated life. She is working as a nurse while attending medical school and is completely devoted to her studying and to her 12-year-old son, Jeff, who she's been raising alone since her husband Ray was sent to prison. She's amused and annoyed by Longworth's pursuit of her, but is also intrigued by him and maybe interested in a relationship, despite her general dislike of cops.

Jeff Cargill (Uriah Shelton) is Callie's son, a good looking, smart twelve year-old who struggles to reconcile his parents' odd and up-for-grabs marital status. With his father in prison, Jeff constantly tests his boundaries with his mother. He could definitely use a father figure in his life, and he takes a quick liking to Longworth.

Longworth's golf partner, friend and colleague, (Carlos Gomez) is a forensic medical examiner who works the crime lab, supervising toxicology screens and autopsies. A family man with a high-maintenance wife and kids, Carlos just wants to be the best husband and father he can be. He isn't easily amused by Longworth's persistence and intuition when it comes to crime-solving skills, especially since he often is forced into compromising positions to try and prove one of his partner's theories.

Lab tech Daniel Green (Jordan Wall) is a 23 year-old grad student who gets an internship working for Carlos in the medical examiner's office. Daniel epitomizes the word "nerd." Nerdy or not, his expertise of all things science-related will come in handy in surprising ways for Longworth as he helps him crack cases. Daniel is thrilled to help Longworth in any way he can, especially if it means he gets to be involved with other police work that he finds cool and interesting.

Colleen Manus (is the smart and tough Regional Director for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida's state police. Her latest hire, Jim Longworth, was a bold but very calculated move. Arrests were way down in her region, and the bad press that followed drove her decision to go outside the Florida Law Enforcement family. Because of Longworth's track record and rate of closure, she gives him a lot of rope, but she has no problem yanking him back if he gets out of line - which is pretty much an everyday occurrence. She has a quick mind and an even sharper tongue, making her the perfect foil for Longworth's dry wit and self-serving humor.

Memorable Moments

Alligator bites, tromping through the swampland, flirting with beautiful ladies keep all eyes on Jim.  Foul play and homicidal investigations keep our eyes GLUED!  In Episode 3, A Perfect Storm – a hurricane sweeps through southern Florida bringing murder and mayhem along with it.  Exposed, Paparzzi get too close for comfort and the media gets tangled up in a murder that gets aired out in the open.  In the final episode, Breaking 80 – Jim’s heart is apparently in his stomach, because that lasagna he goes after looks mighty tasty.  We definitely want that secret recipe!

The Glades Season 1 DVD is loaded with exclusive special features including unaired deleted scenes, gag reel, behind-the-scenes footage, featurettes, director and cast commentaries.

I watched part of the first season on A&E but did miss some episodes so I was thrilled to be able to review the complete season.  I love all detective shows basically so it was no doubt that I love this show as well.  I am extremely excited for Season 2 to start in June.  And I have already set my DVR so I do not miss any of the episodes this season.

MESSAGES4U CARDS review

Messages 4 U are decks of cards created by a husband and wife team to help show encouragement and an uplifting, positive message to those you love.

Now I have always loved the idea of letting your kids know that they are special especially at those times of need or when they are away from you like at school or summer camp or even spending the night with other family members.  So I was excited when I was given the opportunity to review the childrens deck.

Above are two examples of the cards found in the deck.  Now unfortunately for me and my son, the tornadoes severely damaged his school last month and he was out of school for over a week.  then as quickly as he went back, it was over basically.  Nonetheless, I am anxiously awaiting the next school year so I can slip them in his lunch box and his sister's too ( since she starts Kindergarten this coming year).

I think these decks are absolutely adorable and they are very vibrant.  They also provide a great message and would be great for that big test day every kid has.  Another great thing is they have other decks besides the kids deck like for your friends or love interest, or to inspire someone.
